NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Eyewitness News has confirmed that prominent accountant Philip Galanis has died.

Sr. Galanis, a former Member of Parliament is the former Managing Partner of Ernst & Young, Nassau, Bahamas and now serves as the Managing Partner of HLB Bahamas. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), as well as a Chartered Accountant (CA) and a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He served as President of The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants from 1988 a 1992 and as President of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean from 1995 a 1997.

Philip founded HLB Bahamas in 1998. He has over 43 years of experience auditing clients in the following industries: banking & financial services, professional services, aviation, retail, energy & natural resources, insurance, manufacturing, hospitality & tourism. He has also audited non-profits and the public sector.
