NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper told media outside Parliament Wednesday morning that it is too early to tell what effects the US port strikes will have on The Bahamas. Thousands of port workers across the United States have gone on indefinite strike, threatening significant economic and trade disruption.

DPM Cooper added that while it is a slow season for tourism; the strike highlights the need for the country to focus on food security.
